Beyond Mountains, are cloudy skies. Above mountains, is the moon, sun and stars. On the Mountains, is flora and fauna. Mountains are catchments, tributaries into rivers flowing into lakes and oceans. Lee ward or Wind ward, afar are rich valleys, plains, hills. Eh, rare Volcano! pic.twitter.com/Ui1A6PLjrO
To the hills behind, big trees, shrubs, grasses, small grasses, herbs, broken twigs, fallen dried leaves, till different type of sands with the fauna, big or small, everything is a unique ecosystem of it's own with it's own systems, characteristics and processes.
I doubt it'll matter how many times I see it, I'll never get over the contrast between the sheep-bared commonage, about as species-rich as a carpark, and my own adjacent HNVfarmed ground, stuffed full of megadiverse wild flora, fauna & 1,000s of young self-seeded native trees. pic.twitter.com/pyzEIZ6yzf
This is the Cold War relic to end them all. The Smirnykh Air Base located in the Sakhalin District of the former Soviet Union. Creepy, but also starkly beautiful. Definitely being reclaimed by flora & fauna. Built for war & death, home to nature & life. I like the symmetry... pic.twitter.com/8fl4bXg697
